You are so right...I want one. Linda - I'm so jealous....ssssooooo jealous.

This would be so much better than my hand stitched black nappa leather seats.

And...let's be honest here...quite a bit cooler, don't you think?

Well that explains it - I was in fact, leaning into the car at an angle when I took the pic.

Ahh, picture rotation. It's a weird thing. It breaks down like this...

When you take a picture, as well as the photograph, the camera writes extra information into the file. It usually writes the date and time you took the picture. Then various camera settings (shutter speed, aperture, focal length, other technical data). The camera can also store orientation information which says "this picture was taken with the camera on its side".

Picasa recognises that data and then flips the picture so you see it correctly rotated. However, WordPress doesn't recognise that data. Well, it does, but it doesn't do anything about it. It's something that WordPress might do automatically in the future, but there are a few technical reasons that make it difficult.

The solution is to save the picture again before uploading it. I'm not 100% sure how to do that in Picasa, maybe Fergus knows. On my computer I open it in a program called gthumb and click save. That saves a copy with the actual image rotated, and then the upload works fine.
